Alexander Bucock: The life of the Alliance is at an end! Its politicians who toy with power. It's opportunistic soldiers... No, its citizens have turned over rulership to politicians, instead of participating in it! The people have democratic principles on their lips, but can't spare the effort to safeguard them! The collapse of a government is the sin of its rulers and leaders. The collapse of democratic rule is the sin of every citizen!
Walter von Schönkopf: If the dictatorship is bad, it's up to the citizens to correct it.
Yang Wen-li: People tend to make the common mistake of believing that a situation will last forever.
Huang Rui: Our Alliance seems to be faced with a very hard to answer dilemma. Which do we want, a corrupt democracy or a pure dictatorship? Which has more justice and order?
Do Juliana.
Yang Wen-li: For as long as human history goes on, the past will continue to accumulate. History isn't just records of the past. It's also proof that civilization has continued to advance to the present. Our present civilization is the result of our past.
Yang Wen-li: Dictatorship itself isn't absolutely evil, it's just another form of government. The point is how you can run it for the benefit of society.
Enrique Oliveira: Peace and freedom, lacking a sense of tension, cause people to degenerate. It's war that gives people a sense of vitality. War is what makes civilizations advance, and psychologically elevates people! Prolonged periods of peace and freedom will only decrease the vitality in an already decadent age. Doesn't your precious history proves that?
Yang Wen-li: What a wonderful observation. If only there was no one who had lost their life or family to war then maybe I'd even come to believe it. For people who prefer to take advantage of war and try to establish their on profit on other peoples' sacrifices, it's an unusually fascinating idea. And for people who show false patriotism to deceive other people as well.
Yang Wen-li: People may need societies, but they don't necessarily need nations.
Yang Wen-li: There has never been 'permanent peace' in human history. But, there have been plenty of ages with decades of peace. In short, my hope is, haughtily enough, for a few decades of peace in the future.
Yang Wen-li: The freedom to not get involved is perhaps the most valued freedom we have in this country.
Shirotsugh Lhadatt: Can anyone hear me? I'm the first man in space. If you look up, well, maybe you'll see it. Or at least please listen. We've left the oceans and climbed above the mountains. I'm flying. We've found the untouched realm of God. You have to look now it's your only chance. Nothing is here yet, not even air or water to ruin. Soon the next man will follow to touch it, and another, and in all the rush we may again destroy it. Maybe our killing comes from the madness of being confined? Please listen! There's no more reason to kill because we don't have any more borders now! Can anyone hear me? If you can hear me, then pray. The humblest of all things, the most noble. Pray for each step you take. Make a path that's safe so those who follow shall never stumble. Dear God, please give us your mercy. Mercy for we are lost. Forgive the irresponsible, the trivial men who beg you from the dark for the forgiveness of your light.
Khaidenn: Civilization did not create war. War created civilization.
